My husband bought me this beautiful Orchid for Easter. He had bought me one about two years ago and, of course, I touched it and it hasn’t bloomed since. Recently, I had expressed the desire for it to bloom again as it was just beautiful. So, he bought me this new one the other day. Since then, we have looked at the older on a bit more closely and have determined that it needs to be re-potted into a larger container so as soon as we can get some potting soil that will work, we will take that on and hopefully it will begin to bloom again!
Spring is such a wonderful time of the year! All of the flowering shrubs are budding out and the trees are beginning to show signs of new green growth. It’s a time of renewal. It’s also a time for pollen and mega rain storms. We have had our share for the first part of March and the old March saying could never be more true, March sure did come in like a Lion.
This past week was relatively quiet, but all of the rain and storms from last weekend sure have dumped a lot of rain. All of the rivers are overflowing their banks and a lot of folks are left without a place to stay because of the high waters. In most places, it is expected this time of the year but there are places with high water that normally do not see it, even in the rainy season. I will count my blessings that Kent and I do not live in an area that is prone to flooding at any time of the year and I will pray for those that do.
With Spring coming early and Easter being next weekend, lots of my trees and bushes are actually flowering early this year. Most of the Azalea’s are in full bloom right now and that does not normally happen until April. So….you know that I have been busy with my camera on the days that I could actually get out and take photos. Also, with the time having changed because of daylight savings time, it is lighter when I get home in the evenings, so I am able to take a few pictures before the sun goes down.
Where ever you are, are hope that you are finding a way to enjoy the Springtime. Get out in the fresh air, take a walk, go for a drive, or visit a nearby park to check out the nature and wildlife. Whatever you do….don’t forget your camera!
Today was such a beautiful day! I was actually able to get out in the yard and take some photos. My plum trees are blooming out and some of the Azalea bushes are beginning to bloom. Well, I only have one that actually blooms out but my brothers Azalea bushes are the most beautiful in March and April. They line the front and sides of his yard (he lives next door to me) and I can look out the window and see the yard just bursting with color. It is truly beautiful when they are all in bloom at the same time. Here are a few that I gor shots of today, including the plum tree blossoms.
Another month has come and gone… February was good to me. I was able to chat with some friends on Skype that I had not talked to in several months. It’s always nice to catch up with friends you haven’t heard from in a while. I was also able to catch up with my 4 brothers (from other mothers) that I haven’t been in contact with for more than 30 years! They are all doing well and it is just a blessing to be able to say that these guys, and their families, are my family as well. It’s almost like going home until I realize that THAT home just doesn’t exist any longer. In the past week I have remembered things that I thought were long forgotten, I’ve cried for lost dreams and rejoiced for all of the blessings that my sweet Lord has bestowed upon me and prayed to him for blessings of another. Life is much too short to dwell on the things of the past and things that could have been. Just keep going forward and live in Gods plan. He will never lead you in the wrong direction.
That being said, here are the last of the layouts for the month of February. Enjoy!
