TDC – Give Me Space Challenge

I finally got the chance to get back over to The Digi Chick and complete a challenge.  This one is for the “Give Me Space” Challenge.  The object is to create a layout using lots of “white” space.  I do not do many of them, so it is nice to get this challenge done every month.

I used “The Faith Project – Goodness” created by Sherwood Studios.  You can pick it up here.

I just love Sunday, don’t you?  It is my day to just take time to relax after a busy week and enjoy my coffee, my PJ’s, my grandkids, the husband….well, just everything!  Here is a layout that I created this lazy Sunday…made especially for Sunday!  I used Jill’s “Sunday Morning” kit available here.

Pillow Talk

With Valentines Day just around the corner, I thought this to be a cute play on words!  I am actually surprised that I thought of it!  Anyway, for this layout, I used a photo of this awesome fuzzy red heart that I gave Miss Abigail last year for Valentines Day.  I have this habit of taking pictures of things like this and thank goodness that I do!

The template I used is from the “Block On Template Collection” created by Blue Heart Scraps.  It can be found here and the kit is “Be Still My Heart” also by Blue Heart Scraps.  It can be found here.

Snowdrop Lane by Seatrout

I am running late, but I promised that I would be back with a layout using Rachael’s newest kit that is now in the store at Gingerscraps.  The name of the kit is Snowdrop Lane and it is beautiful.  Lots of flowers and other elements but what I really like are the canvas/burlap papers that she has included.  You can pick up this kit here.

Please note that the black box with the words Snowdrop that appears around the photo are of my own creation.  This is NOT included in the kit.

Created by Jill and more….

First things first…

I am officially a stay at home Wife, Mother and Grandmother.  My last day on the job was February 8th.  I’m not sure what the financial aspect of that will bring but for now, it is just good to be at home and able to put more time into some of the things that I want to do around here and into my photography and scrapbook interest.

That being said…. I am very excited to say that I made it onto Jill’s Creative Team!  I am looking forward to creating layouts with all of her awesome digital kits and I hope that all of you will like them, love them and be inspired by them.

AND… you may be happy to see that I actually changed my blog header this morning.  While the November one was pretty, I was getting tired of looking at it too!  The new one is created with Jill’s “PS- I love you” kit and is available at Pickleberry Pop – Here.

This is one of the layouts that I created with that same kit.  Beautiful artsy kit but certainly does not have to be used that way as it is perfect for more traditional layouts as well.  This layout was created for the Font Challenge at PBP.  The font is “School Notes” and is available at DAfonts here:    As you can see, it is a very versatile font and can be used for more than just a school page.

Jill has a brand new kit that hit the store on Tuesday evening (02/07/2017).  The name of the kit is “Just Stay a Little Longer” and is geared toward empty nesters but can be used for SO many other wonderful things.  Here I have a layout using an empty bird nest that I found in one of the trees in my front yard.  You can pick up this kit at PBP here:

Blue Heart Scraps

JoyLynn has a new kit at Gingerscraps called “Be Still My Heart“.  A wonderful kit for Valentines Day, Anniversaries or just Love layouts in general. She really pulled out all of the stops on this one too.  Awesome papers and elements in this one.  One that I can really see myself using for many different things.  You can pick it up here at GS.

Seatrout Scraps

Stay tuned as Rachael has a new kit that will hit the stores at midnight tonight and I will be back with a layout using that new kit.

See you then!

Pickleberry Pops!

I am an avid scrapbooker – digital scrapbooker – so many of the pages on FB that I Like and people that I follow are friends that I have made in the scrapbook world.  Every where I go on FB these days, I see Pickleberry Pop which is a scrapbook community in digi land that is the home of many wonderful digital artist and designers.  So I ask myself, Why haven’t I been there yet? I cannot answer the question.  Hmmm.

As luck would have it, there is a designer that I am very familiar with from another scrapbook community having a Guest CT Call.  Her name is Jill and she goes by “Created by Jill”.  Well, other than The Digi Chick Community, guess where else she sells her sprapbook/artistic kits?  Yep, Pickleberry Pop!  This excites me!   So I start really thinking about this….  Can I really afford to put myself out there for yet another creative team?  I mean, I am on two other creative teams, which I love dearly, but I also work a full time job and have my two oldest Grandchildren here most of the time.  With all of this going on, will I be able to meet her requirements and add something of value to her team?  It is a two month guest spot with the option at the end of the two months to stay on permanently, IF she likes my work and I am a FIT with her other team members.  So, Heck yeah!  I created my layout and submitted it to her.  I came to terms with it in this way…  Two months is not a long time but it is long enough to get a feel for working with her and the rest of her team and also her kits, I already have several of them.  I would also be able to continue posting my layouts and doing some of the challenges at The Digi Chick because she sells there, as well as, get my foot in the door at Pickleberry Pop! And PBP has some great challenges too!

OK… so why am I so hooked on the name Pickleberry Pop?  My Grand Daughter, Alana is an avid Pickle lover.  This girl goes through Pickles like I go through a bag of Lays potato chips.  Yeah, it’s that bad!  She also loves putting the pickle juice in the freezer to make POPS!  So it only stands to reason that I should be at Pickleberry Pop! AND, I just love the name.  It is really very catchy.

Anyway, wish me luck!   ACK!  I almost forgot the layouts!  Here are all of the layouts that I have created to date with Jill’s’ awesome kits.

This is the layout that I created and sent to her for the CT Call.  This kit is “This Year I Will” and is wonderful.  You can find it here.

This is one of the first layouts that I created using one of Jill’s kits.  This kit is called “It’s a PJ Kind of Day”.  You can find it here.

Here’s one using her kit “Just Relax”.  Find it here.

This one is created with “The World is Your Oyster” and can be found here.  I also giggle at the names of some the kits that she has, but they are so much fun!

Here’s one with “Sunday Morning”.  I just adore this kit. The colors are awesome and there is just so much more to see that what you see in this layout.  You can find this one here.

Ok, and lets not forget the Christmas Kit!  Every great designer has an awesome Christmas Kit.  “Hello Christmas” is no exception!  You can find it here.

So there you have it.  I also have two other kits created by Jill that I have not had the opportunity to use just yet but I will.  Oh yes, I will!

This Weeks Projects…

Ok, so I have been on vacation all week and NO, it wasn’t a planned, fun vacation.  As it happens there are many changes going on at work and by the end of this month, just a week away, I may not have any vacation for a while.  So…. I decided to take a week and get some things done around the house.  I went through all of my dresser drawers and the closet… got rid of everything that I either do not wear or cannot wear, cleaned my craft room and I just do not want to talk about all of the STUFF that I threw away.  It pains me.

Every evening this week, I have worked on a crochet project that I have started.  No photos just yet, but they are coming. And I actually got some scrapbooking pages completed!  Yay me!!

This one is special!  I created this one for Jill of Created By Jill.  She sells her kits at The Digi Chick and PickleBerry Pop.  She is looking for someone to come onto her team as a guest CT for the next two months so I entered to see if I even had a slight chance of getting the spot.  Oh My there are so many talented ladies out there!  Wish me luck!

This one is for Rachel at Seatrout Scraps.  I just love this new kit of hers and I actually had some pics of my backyard Muscadines to use with this one.

This one uses one of JoyLynn’s slightly older kits but it is NEW at The Digi Chick this week. I actually went to Walmart and purchased the duck to create this layout!

January 2017

Happy New Year everyone!  It is going to be a GREAT year for digital Scrapbooking and for other crafty projects!  Here are a few layouts that I have completed so far the YEAR and a pic of a crochet project that I am almost finished with.

This crochet project started several months ago.  It has taken me a good while to get it completed but with the Grand kids and work, things just have to be put on hold from time to time.  I actually ordered the kit from Herrschners because I just fell in love with the colors of the yarn.

AND … here are the layouts that I have completed.  Stay warm, stay busy and be happy!
